Free Range Hunts
Prepare to go to some of the most breathtaking locations in New Zealand with our free range hunts. We are passionate about time spent afield giving our clients the opportunity to hunt and live in remote areas of New Zealand. All of our trips are tailored to suit your requests, and we are passionate about curating free range trips with you prior to your arrival in New Zealand.

Estate Hunting
We also offer private estate hunting opportunities where you are the sole hunters in the area. Our team has access to some of the most exclusive hunting estates in New Zealand, which are home to a wide range of game species including New Zealand Red Stag, Elk, Bison, Tahr, and Fallow.
Drop Camps
At Metanoia Ventures, we are proud to offer Drop Camps for hunters seeking the thrill of an independent, unguided experience in some of New Zealand’s most pristine wilderness. This is your chance to challenge yourself while hunting free-range Tahr, Chamois, Red Stag, and Fallow Deer in private hunting areas.
Where You'll Be Staying
Wanaka Base
Stay in our private luxury lodge, just a short drive from the heart of Wanaka and our nearby hunting area. We also partner with a local luxury accommodation specialist for those who wish to upgrade their accommodation at additional cost. (Note: our pricing includes your accommodation at our Lodge - upgrades are additional and upon availability).
Expedition Hunts - Wilderness Camps
For a truly wild adventure, camp in style with our wall tents. Equipped with wood burners and breathtaking views, these camps offer a unique way to immerse yourself in the wilderness.
Full camp gear is provided (sleeping mats, sleeping bags, chef prepared meals).
Private Chef
For us, the food is just as important as the hunt - that's why we have a private chef available throughout your stay, serving up a true taste of New Zealand.
Our private chef will also prepare all meals for our Drop Camps, meaning you're guaranteed a hearty and delicious meal even while in the hills.
Everything Else
We’ve thought of all the extras so you don’t have to. Transfers to and from Queenstown Airport are included, and our dedicated travel advisor is on hand to help you plan unforgettable experiences beyond the hunt.
Non-hunters are welcome to join your adventure for a small additional fee - they’ll enjoy the same luxury accommodation, chef-prepared meals, and the chance to relax or explore while you’re out in the field.

That's why we're proud to have Chef Liam as part of our team - his expertise in butchery, cooking, and presentation are second to none. Having cooked in some of the most renowned restaurants in New Zealand and Rarotonga, he showcases the finest combinations of New Zealand game and seasonal New Zealand produce.
